When we started our industrial cleaning by dry ice blasting business we learned no workers compensation NCCI number for our business niche existed.  Our business was assigned the same number sandblasting companies have.

Abrasive blast media builds up underfoot creating a slip hazard. If deep enough it becomes a trip hazard.  Dry ice does not build up underfoot and cause slip or trip hazards.  Dry ice blasting leaves no secondary waste stream behind.

Sand on impact, fragments creating dust.  Causing a hazard to the respiratory system.  Dry ice on impact fragments into a dustless gas.  There is no dust created by the fragmentation of the dry ice cleaning pellets. 

When filling a blast pot heavy bags are lifted to the top of the pot.   How many back injuries and hernias has this caused?  When filling a dry ice cleaning machine a worker has to lift light shovels to the top of the machine.  Causing no back injuries or hernias at all.

When refilling an abrasive blast pot, it has to depressurize.  As the pot loses pressure, it loses its ability to keep the plunger closed or up.  The residual pressure release always seems to blow a small amount of sand towards the face of the pot tender.  When refilling a dry ice cleaning machine a worker simply opens the lid and shovels the pellets into the hopper and closes the lid.  There is no danger to the eyes.

To be fair, the hazards  of dry ice cleaning need to also be pointed out.  In confined space or poorly ventilated applications CO2 will displace oxygen causing a suffocation hazard.   Workers must use air monitoring equipment, proper ventilation blowers and/or air supplied respirators while working in confined spaces.  

The temperature of dry ice makes handling it with bare hands for more than a few seconds nearly impossible, it is -109F, so cold it burns.  Using gloves is a must.

I have tried to make a case for keeping the workers compensation expense of dry ice cleaning below that of sandblasting.  The things that I've stated above are true and can be confirmed by using a search engine and/or talking with those in the industry.

Some of the more conventional  cardiovascular activities such as jogging, walking, aerobic exercise and biking are good for burning calories. However,  cardiovascular exercise can actually cause you to lose fat ALONG with muscle. Also, by doing slow-paced cardio, you may not be burning enough calories to make any real progress. An alternative solution could be to reduce your cardio exercises and mix in some high intensity weight training.

Your ab workout should be a supplement to  a workout that would include the larger muscle groups such as the legs and biceps.  The reason for this is that exercising  the larger muscles gets the heart rate going at a faster  rate,  which results in more calories burned.  An exercise that can produce extreme results is the squat.   The squat exercise  performed with weights is considered an excellent exercise because larger muscle groups are engaged  which provides  the potential to burn a tremendous amount of calories. The squat exercise involves  the quadriceps (thighs), the spinal erectors (back muscles), the hamstrings (back of the thighs) and the buttocks.

In summary, it should be recognized  that the best results obtained to trimming down your midsection usually come from implementing the whole body approach  – integrating an effective ab workout routine ALONG WITH an exercise regimine to work the larger muscle groups  to burn calories.   Use this approach, work diligently and the results will come.

My set daily routine only covers mornings and has some things repeated at various points throughout the week just in case I have a meeting on a set day so I can still work on that topic at another point during the week.

After lunch I am free to work on whatever else I feel important at the time, that may be a continuation of the morning, an article I have read and want to explore further, etc.

This is of course my first version, I may choose to make changes to the routine to suit when I do certain things better.
